Introduction

“In the year 2013, the world was destroyed. Cities disappeared, tectonic plates shifted and the inhabitants of Earth were stolen. The world was lost. A single man, a Mage, a bright point of light amidst the darkness of misery and lost, stood and, through methods unknown, reversed Armageddon. His name is Elijah Valentine.”

The Writer frowned at the tablet that sat before him on a clothed table. The words seemed far too flowery for his taste. Melodramatic. He erased the words with a wave of his stylus across the screen. In the first few sentences of this article he would have to give a new spin on the Event and on the savior who restored the world.

He glanced up as the door opened at the far end of the room and watched as Elijah Valentine entered. The Mage waved as he made his way across the room and the Writer stood to receive him. There was little doubt about where the man was headed as he’d reserved the entire restaurant for the duration of their project. They shook hands and the Mage, smiling, settled down opposite the Writer.

“Well, then,” the Mage said, leaning back in his chair. “Shall we get this interview started?”
